NCSA - Field Directions

  From Closter area and north by way of Knickerbocker Avenue: Follow Knickerbocker Road (CR-505) through the Camp Merrill Memorial traffic circle in Cresskill continuing towards Tenafly. After the blinking light (Hickory Ave), take your second left onto Columbus Drive. At traffic light at the bottom of the hill, take a right onto Jefferson Avenue. Geissinger Field will now be on your left and MacKay Elementary school will be on your right. At the end of the field, take a left into the parking lot. The field is located adjacent to Tenafly Middle School and Roosevelt Commons. From points West by way of Route 4: Head East on Route 4 towards Fort Lee and/or George Washington Bridge. Take the second Teaneck Road exit towards Bergenfield. Stay on Teaneck Road approximately 1.5 miles. You will pass a large Armory on your right hand side. At the traffic light by the Armory, take a right onto Liberty Road. Follow 0.3 miles and bear left onto Ivy Lane. Follow Ivy Lane 0.6 miles to light. Take left onto Knickerbocker Road (CR-505). Follow to second traffic light and take a right onto River Edge Road. Follow road down hill and at the traffic light, take a left onto Jefferson Avenue and then take your first right into the parking lot. Geissinger field is located behind Tenafly Middle School adjacent to Roosevelt Commons. From South Jersey and points South by way of New Jersey Turnpike – Route 95: Follow the Turnpike / 95 North past Newark Airport. Follow signs for either western spur (towards George Washington Bridge – Exit 18W) or eastern spur (towards Lincoln Tunnel – Exit 18E) of the turnpike. Continue to follow turnpike north towards the George Washington Bridge. Take Exit 70B (Leonia / Teaneck) and follow directions below **. From South Jersey and points South by way of Garden State Parkway: Follow Garden State Parkway North to Exit 163 – New Jersey Turnpike – Route 95 North. Follow the Turnpike / 95 North past Newark Airport. Follow signs for either the western spur (towards George Washington Bridge – Exit 18W) or eastern spur (towards Lincoln Tunnel – Exit 18E) of the turnpike. Continue to follow turnpike north towards the George Washington Bridge. Take Exit 70B (Leonia / Teaneck) and follow directions below **: ** Take the second exit towards Teaneck. Once off the ramp you will be on DeGraw Avenue and the Marriott Hotel at Glenpoint will be on your right. Follow to the second light and take a right onto Teaneck Road. Follow on Teaneck Road for approximately 5 miles until you see an Armory on your right (2 large tanks in front). At the light just passed the Armory, take a right onto Liberty Road and follow for 0.3 miles. Bear left at the end of the Armory onto Ivy Lane and follow for 0.6 miles to traffic light. Take a left onto Knickerbocker Road. Follow to second traffic light and take a right onto River Edge Road. Follow road down the hill and at the traffic light, take a left onto Jefferson Avenue and take your first right into the parking lot. Geissinger field is located behind Tenafly Middle School adjacent to Roosevelt Commons.

LIGHTNING SAFETY POLICY If a lightning risk warning occurs, all activities within such park or recreational facility shall immediately cease until the lightning warning system provides the all- clear sound. All umpires, coaches, referees, coordinators or adults in charge of an organized activity shall be responsi- ble to ensure that his or her group follows the Lightning Safety Policy. Members of the public using the parks and fields on an individual, unorganized basis are also individually subject to same safety policy. Any person found guilty of violating this article shall be subject to a penalty consisting of a fine or impris- onment, or both, subject to the discretion of the Judge, the maximum of which shall be the maximum fine not to exceed $1,000 or term of imprisonment permitted to be imposed by the court. Geissinger Field –Usage Guidelines

-If there is a high school game/practice on-going when you arrive please stay outside the fence until they exit the field.

-After that only players and coaches are allowed on the field.  All others must stay behind the fence and in the bleachers to watch.

-Players and coaches can enter the field at two locations, one is in front of the Field House and the other is next to the bleachers.  These entrances will have rubber matting down so that players and -coaches can access the field and not damage the track.

-All spectators cannot be on the field; they can stand behind the fence and sit in the bleachers

-All goals must be placed back to original position as they were when you arrived.

-Park in the Middle School parking lot or Roosevelt Commons parking lot.

 and obey all local traffic laws

-Port-o-Johns are located on site for your convenience

-Take all trash out of the facility when you leave

 -Field is for use by permit only, no pick-up games allowed
